Phenomena

What shows itself

You can’t ignore the phenomena once it starts repeating.

Magret doesn’t name them. She sees them happen twice, then a third time somewhere else, and understands they belong to the same thing. A body changing in an apartment, another in a corridor, another out in the open. Different places, same sequence.

They don’t stand alone.

Each one is tied to the others through what sets them off and what follows. Bread falls, someone eats, something shifts, others move toward it. The pattern holds across distance.

That repetition is what makes it visible.

Primary Phenomena

Where they come from

Nothing begins on its own.

The bread comes from the Mill. It’s dropped, distributed, taken. The body runs what it carries. The environment determines how long it can be seen and how far it spreads before it folds into the next moment.

Magret watches that chain without breaking it apart.

She knows the balcony leads to the stairwell, the stairwell to the street, the street to whatever forms next. Each step is already connected.

The phenomena sit inside that chain.

They are the moments where it becomes legible.

Propagation

They travel through behavior.

No one forces it outward. Hunger pulls it forward. A person approaches, takes, changes. That change becomes the next point others align to.

It doesn’t look like an attack.

It looks like a series of decisions that keep leading to the same place.

Magret sees it spread without noise.

A room shifts, then a street, then a zone further out. Not all at once. In pieces that connect through movement.

Appetite drives interaction between the living and transformed subjects. Each act of consumption extends the system. Contagion does not spread through violence but through ingestion, making participation voluntary yet structurally reinforced.

Stabilized States

Some states hold long enough to be recognized.

A body reaches the point where it no longer responds and remains accessible. That state appears again elsewhere, with slight differences but the same structure.

The process leading there repeats too.

Early changes, visible shifts, then that stillness. Different timing, same direction.

The environment follows.

Areas where this happens often begin to hold more of it. Surfaces carry traces longer. Movement slows or tightens in those places.

Magret reads those zones before entering them.

Not by name. By what they’ve become.

What it changes

Everything adjusts around it.

People move differently. They anticipate the next stage before it completes. Spaces are used based on how recently something happened there. Systems try to respond, to contain, to structure.

They never fully catch up.

The phenomena keep forming ahead of them.

Magret stays inside that gap.

She moves before the pattern locks, before the next state settles. She doesn’t stop it. She passes through it while it’s still becoming.

That’s where it remains visible.
